Does LaCasa only serve Hispanic Clients?
No, LaCasa's programs are open to all people regardless of race, nationality, or ethnic origin.

Do only low income people get help?
Clients are generally in the Low-Moderate income range for help with housing depending on your family size. Anyone can attend LaCasa classes on Home Ownership and Financial Fitness. Immigration Counseling is also available to any one who needs help filling out this paperwork.

How can I find out about renting a house or apartment from LaCasa?
Call LaCasa’s Leasing Office at Arbor Ridge, 574-537-1896, to find out if you qualify for an affordable rental home or apartment.

I don’t understand what services LaCasa offers. What department do I start with to ask questions about what needs LaCasa may be able to address for me?

• If you would like information on how to purchase a home, call 1-866-897-3899 toll free or 574-533-4450. Ask to speak to Amy Jo or Rocio.
• If you would like help or information on the immigration process, our counselors can help. Make an appointment with the receptionist 574-533-4450.
• If you own your home and can’t afford repairs and live in the city of Goshen, LaCasa’s Help-A-House^sm program may be able to help. Pick up the application at LaCasa’s office, 202 N. Cottage Ave., Goshen, IN 46528.

What are the income levels to qualify for grant assistance or to rent from LaCasa?
That varies with the program; please call our office for more information.

Can LaCasa pay my mortgage payment for me if I am behind?
No, we do not have funds to help you pay your mortgage. LaCasa counselors can help you understand what steps you need to follow to avoid foreclosure. We can help! Call LaCasa as soon as you realize you may be in trouble, Amy at 574-533-4450.

If I came to this country without proper documentation, can LaCasa help me become “legal”?
No, but LaCasa Immigration counselors can tell you what you need to do to get the proper documentation. Sometimes this means going back to your home country to follow the correct path to U.S. citizenship.
